Tool box

Before you begin to sew, you should have the correct tools and materials.

Some of these are necessary, others are not.

What you should have in your tool box:

- Tape measurer
- Sharp sewing pins with a large head
- Safety pins
- Sharp needles
- Embroidery needles
- Ribbon
- Elastic
- 2 pairs of good quality scissors {one for cutting thread, the other for cutting fabric }
- Pinking shears
- Embroidery thread
- Good quality cotton
- Thimble

 You can buy these things at any sewing shop, but I recommend buying them from Lincraft, as they are the best quality.

Also make sure you have an appropriate sewing kit/tool box. These can be bought at most sewing shops.

This is my tool box. It is not main my main one, as it is small, but it is one that travels with me. This tool box is strong and capable of holding heavy things.




These are some things in my tool box. I have made a pin cushion for my pins. These are really easy to make { see post on How to make a Pin Cushion } .

 When you are eager to begin sewing or cannot buy your supplies right away, this cute package is right for you. It comes with 6 needles, 6 threads, 1 safety pin and two small buttons. You can find these in supermarkets or, where I got this one, in hotels.
